A couple of interesting days.......

We've had an interesting couple of days.....

I think I've mentioned that T suffers a LOT from stomache aches and headaches and period pains. This has gone on for YEARS and she misses a LOT of school because of it and I'm sick of hearing about it. I've taken her to the regular doctor so many times and they've done tests and come up with no good reason for the stomach aches and headaches. I'm sick of that too. So I asked around and got a red hot recommendation for an Indian doctor who practices Ayurvedic medicine and lives and works in Herzlia Pituach (which is one of the cities that is Israel's equivalent of Beverly Hills - all the rich people live there and it is indeed WOW). Herzlia Pituach isn't that far from us but throw traffic in and I had no idea how long it would take us to get there. I made an appointment with this dr. for Monday night at 6 pm. We left Rehovot at 5 and didn't get there until 7. I also made a wrong turn which added time to the trip. Anyway, we eventually found him. I felt so bad we were so late but he was nice about it. He spoke English and elementary Hebrew so at least T could understand a little bit. As soon as T saw him she whispered to me "He's scary." By the end of the session with him, she said, "He's cute." LOL. SO fickle! He asked us lots of questions, asked to see her tongue and what her eating habits are. Long story short he said her symptoms are due to a hormone imbalance (I'm not surprised). She has to drink 1/4 c aloe vera juice mixed with 1/4 c. water. He recommended hybiscus tea and something else I'd never heard of for intestinal bloating and treatment of candida. I'm working on getting all this stuff together. Went and bought the aloe vera juice tonight. So far T is cooperating with taking all this stuff. I hope it helps because this dr. was private and NOT cheap.

Last night, DH was out at his property investment course in Tel Aviv with the car. The kids and I walked to the mall as soon as I got home from work. Twice a year, all the employees at my work get a 750 NIS gift card that we can use in a whole variety of different stores. It's a nice little perk to look forward to twice a year. At the mall, T and I went into one of the big department stores there which I usually hate but I had this gift card burning a hole in my pocket and in this department store I found some really gorgeous earrings and matching ring. At full price I could only ever dream about owning them but they were 60% off. Still pricey at nearly 700 NIS (~$189) AFTER the 60% discount. I LOVE them! It's so nice to be able once in a blue moon to buy a decent set of jewelry.

Mr. E, who didn't sleep a wink the whole day was going strong and finally crashed at 8 pm in the stroller on the way home when we were about 5 minutes from the house. HOW does he keep going with no sleep?? And he wasn't even crabby. Mr. Cheerful to the very end.

T has decided that instead of guitar lessons she wants to take a zumba class. Almost right across the street from us is a huge, nice new community center and music conservatory and I called up to ask if they offer a zumba class and they do. I'm sure all the gyms around here offer them too but if she likes this class it would be so conveniently close. The office told me it's not specifically for teens but that T is welcome to come for a trial lesson to see if she likes it. We got home from the mall at 8:30 and we were all tired with sore feet but I talked her in to going. She wasn't sure if she'd participate or just watch but whatever. I think something like this would be good for her. She's not a very active type.

I recently found a recipe for yoghurt covered pretzels. I was so excited! But I tried them last night and they were a big, fat flop. SO disappointing. Don't know what to do with all this watery, sugary yoghurt now. Hate to throw it out.

And I wanted to share with you my two newest online time-wasters (besides FB, that is):
